Use RSA Authentication For Critical Information
People today are not unaware of the importance of security solutions. With corporate information becoming more and more critical, security solutions have extended beyond the realm of the simple password. With cyber theft, online fraud and hacking into critical corporate information becoming easy, the need for total security solutions has become even more pronounced.
Keeping this idea in mind, RSA has come up with total business security solutions. This company functions as the security partner of almost 90% of the world's top Fortune 500 companies, solving the security challenges that these companies face and giving them customized solutions after identifying their needs.
RSA provides world class solutions for access control, identity assurance, fraud protection, compliance management, security management and encryption and key management, taking into account the entire security lifecycle. Their solutions ensure that the confidentiality of information shared is maintained at all times.
One of the products in the RSA product portfolio that has been generating rave reviews is the RSA Secure ID. The RSA secure ID is a two factor authentication solution that helps protect sensitive assets that cannot be protected with passwords alone. Identity protection is the new method being used by companies across the world to minimize identity theft. The RSA secure ID functions on the basis of a password that is followed by an RSA authentication. With the RSA Authentication your data gets far more security than what it would get with a reusable password.
The RSA Authentication Manager propels the RSA Secure ID to help scale new heights. This authentication system is being used by millions across the world and is effectively protecting a number of multiple applications across physical sites. This product can be centrally managed reducing the cost of administration and improves efficiency. RSA Authentication is highly scalable and delivers strong reporting and logging capabilities. Its ability to interoperate with more than 300 other networking products and applications makes RSA Application manager a mission critical solution with key capabilities for seamless administration.
The RSA Authentication system works with the help of an additional hardware or software token. This token is given to the user of the computer and generates a code that is called the authentication code which appears at intervals of generally 30 to 60 seconds. This code appears at these intervals using an in built clock and has a random encoded key called seed. The RSA Authentication seed is different for each token given and is loaded in the RSA Secure ID server.
The token is designed to be tamper resistant and cannot fall prey to reverse engineering. The network resource needs both, the Personal Identification Number or Pin, and the one time password generated by the RSA Authentication at that very moment as is displayed at the time of the dial in. Once these two numbers are entered the server registers that and verifies it against the database of cards registered and seed records and then either allows or denies access.
Positioned as one of the world's leading two factor security system providers, RSA has over 20,000 customers across the globe and proves to be a far more reliable security and authentication solution than simple reusable passwords.
